i have such a broken family. i was talking with ward, a regular at work, and, for some reason, i decided to tell him about james. I love that song soooo much. It's definitely my favorite from that album.

I've always found the idea of a person just walking away from their family to be so strange...

Carissa, First, thanks. You have reminded me of hope. And it makes sense more and more that James is in an abusive relationship. It may take him a little longer to figure it out, but I believe he will some day. Most people do, I think. One day, he will finally listen to the concerns of a friend, or that nagging inner voice, and he will come home, and we will be able to welcome him with open arms, and he will being his way to healing. I did love him. I do love him, as your brother, and as my close friend.
I imagine what it's like with the relatives of those missing people we keep reading about in the paper. How do they go on? How do they live a "normal" life, being incomplete? How do you move on, when there is no conclusion of what you're moving on from? Just this time of waiting. Waiting for them, waiting for you. Paused.
