I have never participated in fandom debates before. Mostly because of my snobbish attitude concerning debate. It can't be real debate if it's not structured and follows certain guidelines. This has nothing to do with fandom but rather my own personal experiences on the debate team in high school and college, and all the times I had to tell people it was more than just "arguing". Now I wish I had participated because it seems like it would have been fun.
What is not fun is the
"debate" thread I've been participating in the past few days on FA. My opponents are of the extremely frustrating kind who have their replies to my replied typed up before I even post. (Plus, they are just really, really stupid!) Normally, I consider myself a intelligent and level-headed person, but I did
throw a colossal fit which I am kind of, but not really regretting now. At any rate, I posted it and I refuse to apologize.
But perhaps I should have trusted my instincts and never even registered at FA...
