Is Ulysses S Grant REALLY buried in Lakewood Cemetery?

Apparently not. But I was intrigued by this headstone:

You can't see it in the picture, but it is indeed someone named Ulysses S Grant.

Although I looked for it, I didn't do the research until I got home.  Maybe next time I'll stop and say hi.

It's amazing how quiet and peaceful Lakewood is, especially considering it's smack in the middle of Minneapolis.

The front gate.  It's all 1930's pretty.

Big, ostentatious monuments kinda freak me out.

I love this one.  That drum on the right, at the base of the tree.
It totally looks like it was just thrown there, or Treebeard came along and stepped on it or something.

This one isn't particularly interesting, except that it's for a group called "the OddFellows" fraternity.
Which I found amusing, it's a regular old Skull and Bones, right here in Minneapolis.

Again with the Gigantor monuments.  Unfortunately the picture does not do the scale justice.

But the rediculousness of this one is relatively well captured.

...

After my little photo safari I came home to find the cats enjoying the sun...

And decided that I needed to complete my morning of rebirth and renewal with some planting.

The little egg cups fit perfectly between the inside window and the storm window, which not only creates a nice little greenhouse, but also inadvertently checks #81 of the list.  Cool.
