Orly - Partial Collection

Jan 27, 2010 23:59

I didn't purchase all the colors in this collection and ya know what? I should've. I have four out of the 6 colors. Not sure what I was thinking! I'll track them down and see if I can find them around here in AZ. Oh...trip to my fave nailpolish supply store. WOO HOO!

As always, click to enlarge the pics.

Star of Bombay - Outdoors, overcast, no flash (L)
Star of Bombay - Outdoors, overcast with flash (R)

This is the color that drew me to the collection - my love of dark nail polish. This is very deceptive as it's so dark blue it's almost black...and it's not remotely navy in the slightest! There is a slight shimmer as you can barely see in the forefinger and pinky of the picture on the right.

Golden Jubilee - Outdoors no flash (L)
Golden Jubilee - Indoors with flash (R)

I've never been a fan of orange colored nail polish and this was more sheer than opaque. I was a bit confused since I don't really do sheers. I thought I didn't do the nail polish right...and applied 4 coats. haha. Joke was on me. It wasn't a very flattering color on me.

Mandalay Ruby - Indoors with Flash (L)

Yea, baby...this red was gorgeous! A red creme that I had no problems in applying. A definite keeper in my book.

Midnight Star - No flash, outdoors (L)
Midnight Star - Flash, indoors (R)

A very pretty silver frost blend....absolutely gorgeous!

Sea Of Light - Shade (L); Sunlight (R)

Really not a color for me...a little too bright pink coral on me. I'll be honest, prettier in the bottle than on me.

Golden Maharaja - Shade (L); Sunlight (R)

I thought I'd love this color...but I didn't. :( I can't even put into words how much this color disappointed me. Application was a pain thanks to some bristles that were wonky, the forumula was too runny and streaky. I was thisclose to not even swatching it.

midnight star, golden maharaja, sea of light, orly gems, orly fall 2008, gems collection, star of bombay, mandalay ruby, golden jubilee
