Writer's Block: Eliot Spitzer's Resignation

Mar 13, 2008 16:28

it is not often that i actually do these writer's block questions, but i thought this was a pre3tty good question, so i figured i would answer it.

here is how i feel about the situation, WHO THE FUCK CARES?! seriously, a guy went to a prostitute. big fucking deal. it IS the oldest profession in the world. it's not like men (and i am sure women) haven't been going to them for centuries.

i don't think that a person's professional life and personal life need to intertwine. had his visit to the prostitute effected his ability to perform his job? only when it was made into a scandal it did. is it fucked he cheated on his wife? yes. did THAT effect his ability to do his job? no. is it really all that shocking that a man in power went to a call girl? no. is it all that shocking that a man in power cheated on his wife? unfortunately the answer to that is again no. did everyone love kennedy? that guy cheated on jackie HOW many times? everyone still love clinton... are people more angry that he cheated on his wife or that he went to a prostitute or that he was a man in office who was being sneaky by sneaking around on his lady? what is the real issue here?

i think we as a society need to stop being such prudes. i mean, how long ago were the puritans around? hmm, maybe they never left.

writer's block, eliot spitzer
