It's been a while...
I haven't posted in quite a while because... well... I didn't have anything I wanted to post. 8-)
But I'm bored, so you all get to see my inane ramblings.
Two good trips in the last few weeks. About two weeks ago (the 4th of July weekend), I made it up to Peddler's End for the first time this year. The place is in pretty good shape, just at the moment, though it's rather desperately in need of some new siding. The current stuff was put on probably 30 years ago, and is pine. It's, um.... not in very good shape. Thanks to some friends who found a working example somewhere, I was able to figure out how to open the flue in the bread oven next to the fireplace, so it's possible that will get some use at some point. I didn't actually get around to checking whether it worked or not, but now I know HOW. Anyway. For more about that trip, check out the Peddler's End Log. Also, there are pictures!
We were supposed to go up to Peddler's End again this weekend, but decided not to, for various reasons: instead, we went to the Vermont Rennaisance Festival in Greenfield, MA (No, I don't know why.) It was small, but fun: possibly the best thing was that it turned out an old friend (who I hadn't seen in probably 5 years) was performing with one of the groups there! They did a fun show, even if I did get used as a prop for one of their songs. So, while I'm sad that I didn't get to NH this weekend, it worked out pretty well anyway. And we may go next week, instead.
