"...It's the hope I can't stand."
Been a "good news/bad news/good news/bad news/good news" sort of day. I'm hoping it ends up stopping at "good news."
See, we found the problem with out septic system. Good news, right?
Well, yes, but the bad news is WHAT the problem is. It appears to be either (A) an extra drain coming from "somewhere else" or (B) a broken joint in the sewer pipe that runs under our building. Clean water seems to be pouring in at about 5 gpm, which accounts for our extra flow... 5 gallons per minute times 1440 minutes per day = 7200 gallons per day.
Good news? It's not under MY floor, it's under someone elses.
Bad news? Breaking up a concrete slab foundation to get at the plumbing underneath it is (A) expensive, and (B) messy.
Good news? Now it looks like someone may be able to patch the pipe without actually tearing up the floor... I'm waiting for a call-back now.
Let's hope there's more good news, and no more bad news.
