I finally got around to putting new tires on my bike. The front tube was ok, so I re-used it, but the back one... I'm not actually sure how it held air. It was twisted and folded all around the valve, which explains why the valve didn't stick straight out from the rim. Anyway, it was surprisingly easy, since I've come to expect this sort of thing to not work right the first time.
Now... can anyone tell me how to make sure my rear tire is actually straight? I've got it as close as I can eyeball it, but I don't think it's quite right...
