College Visit!

Wow, so I have not posted in forever! But no worries, for I am here once more.

Te he. So I visited Gordon College this weekend, and it was amazing. It is like the perfect school for me, it almost seems too good to be true, but hey I'm not complaining.

Their theatre program is amazing, because it is small, but high quality. Which is lovely. The program is only a couple years old, but every theatre major that has graduated so far is currently working or interning with theatre, which is so encouraging.

The professor looks like Matthew Broderick which made Jess and I laugh for a bit. We sat in on one of his classes, theatre history 1, which i loved!!

Other cool things is the study abroads for theatre major, which almost every student gets to participate in a study abroad because it is the same price of tuition. You can either study NY Theatre for a bit, or tour with a london action troop! Or I could either go to france to study abroad even if i'm not a french major or i could still study art in italy! so cool!

We got lucky because there was a production opening the night we were there. It was called Growing Up Christian, and it was written by the students who were involved in it. It was so good! I was amazed to find that alot of the beliefs that I have lined up with how the people at Gordon though. It was such a relief. The play was so good! Prof. Miller (the guy who looks like Matthew Broderick) told us that they write one of the four shows each year. They also do a nice variety of shows like a musical, shakespeare, modern, romantic, realistic. I am excited!

Its also really good because you don't have to know exactly what you want to do in theatre. Because the program is so small, you get a lot of attention to figure out your strengths and weaknesses and then improve your weak spots.

Oh and theatre students often stay over the summer to work in Salem in Historical Reinactments! When I heard that I wanted to DIE! That would be so coool!

There are so many oppurtunities there and it is so gorgous! It's a closed campus with lots of trees and there is a lake that a lot of the buildings look out over. Ahh! I am so excited! I was so sad to leave!

I'm also eligible for quite a lot of academic scholarships, which is AWESOME! Weeee! I'm so glad I worked hard in high school. lol.

Oooh. more cool things is that their atheletic center is so nice! Pool, rockwalls, racketball, tennis, volleyball, elevated running track, basketball, workout rooms, all free! So lovely! The campus has free wireless, also lovely. The food was good and there are kitchens in the bottoms of all the dorms so that if you want to make your own food you can. Also lovely! It is so old and new englandy and nice and lovely!

Oh and the beach and Rockport are like 20 mins. drive and skiing is only like 30 mins away and the train can take you right into Boston!

And we got to go to the Cheese Shop! Haha, just as good as three years ago. Wee.

Oh and as for how strick of a christain school it is, its very reasonable. The campus is dry, but if you are legal, you are allowed to drink off campus as long as you don't come back to campus drunk. lol. and there is no dress code, also nice, all though i wouldn't have minded too much. People do real things for fun instead of drinking and partying, it was very refreshing.

I'm so excited! I hope i get accepted, but I am pretty confident I will! Yay, future!

Wow, that was a lot of ranting. Kudos if you read it all. Lol.

I'm going to BEDDD! weeeeeeeee.
