Update and Kids Say the Darndest Things....

Jun 01, 2006 20:54

First off, before I get to the update...I have to elaborate on the kids say the darndest things.

Some days it's:
"Ms. Carnine, what's wrong with your hair? It looks like you didn't brush it today" (Thanks, Guys)

other times it's:

"Ms. Carnine, what's on your face? It's white."
"I don't know...what does it look like?"
"Mocos" (boogers/snot in Spanish)
(Again, thanks...we had a conversation about what dry skin was after that.)

But today it was:
"Ms. Carnine, you look skinny". (Yes! They told me that I look like I have lost weight)

*****UPDATE*****

So, I feel like I have been doing a lot and doing nothing all at the same time. I think teaching and Jack take up most of my time right now. My days pretty much consist of going to school, coming home, working out, making dinner, taking Jack to the dog park, doing stuff for school or researching wedding stuff and then going to bed.

I have been doing a lot of wedding planning lately. (Mark your calendars for 7/7/07!) I have already booked the church and the reception location as well as the photographer. I have calls into a few caterers and we have several cake tasting appointments for later this month (Julio is very excited about this). I have also looked and sent out price quotes for bridesmaid dresses so that I can see how much those are going to be. In a few weeks I will be going to my sister's and she will be trying on dresses for me so that I can see them. I still really want to ask Colleen to be a bridesmaid but I think it will be too many people. I also don't even know if she would want to do it. I have also narrowed down choices as far as invitations, favors, and the like. There is so much to do. However, I have a feeling that I will be done before too long. It seems like it is so far away but I have a feeling that the time will pass by quickly.

We have found a kennel/boarding place for Jack to stay when we are Weddings R' Us this summer (thanks to Jerid, Sue and the vet's office). I am excited about that because I have been very concerned about where Jack is going to stay while we are out of town. The longer he's here, the more I feel like he's my child...and the more I realized I'm soooooo NOT ready to have kids.

I'm glad that school is winding down but sad at the same time. I have one of the greatest groups of kids and I love them to pieces. I feel responsible for them and I love that I think they feel responsible for me too. I am teaching summer school for the extra money and whatever so I hope to be able to see some of the kids this summer as well. I hope that was enough of an update because I have to shower and start the "getting ready for bed" process. Night!
