dear internets
how have you been? i've been fine.
1) RA-ing is going well. for awhile there, i was feeling like i was working very hard and no one was really taking notice (we have weekly recognitions), but it seems like that's turned around in the last week. i've been working at making my programming innovative and interesting to my residents, and working tons with roommate conflicts, and doing plenty with the website i'm building for the hall. i got a couple of nods from my boss, but i just noticed a note in my box from one of the Res Ed higher-ups, rachel, commending me on my hard work and such. that felt nice. what felt better was last week, when i did a reverse trick-or-treat on my floor. i connected really well with my residents, and i'm feeling really good about this job in general.
2) relationship is good. our three-year anniversary (!) is on the 23rd, which is pretty amazing. though i guess i've been thinking we've been together for three years since we hit two and a half, heh. we've been having little bumps here and there, but it's more growing and communicating what we need from each other than "PROBLEMS". though it sure doesn't feel like that in the middle of a discussion, but you know what i mean. not to sound like every teenage girl who's ever written in a livejournal, but we'll probably get married and have babies in the very distant future. very, very, very distant babies. i'm too self-centered for kids anytime soon.
3) my rap group is gearing UP. we're actually behaving like a real band these days, discussing future plans and all. we've been playing an unsolicited show or two just about every month, and we're in a very productive stage right now. there's a big push to get recordings done, and we're writing more songs these days (the newest ones include "we're easy," "look at me girl" and a yet-untitled one about great thinkers). the plan is to finish a record as soon as possible, get some merch made, revamp the website, and actually book our own shows. there are shifts happening in even the roles we all play in the band, which is a little weird for me (being a control freak), but i'm trying to keep my ego out of it, and just make sure the songs are the best they can be. i just hope that's not construed by my bandmates as being an ego trip (don't ask). all in all, things are going well.

4) school is going well. i have straight As for midterm grads so far, which is lovely, even though i don't have to worry about grades now. my last semester is approaching, which means (GASP) internships and job hunts loom, but i'm so zen about it right now, you wouldn't believe.
