I just returned from a trip to LA to visit my family. We were driving south on Interstate 15, just outside of Las Vegas, when Clint called some friends of ours who live in Kentucky. To our surprise, the friends just happened to be in Las Vegas that very moment to attend the National Finals Rodeo. We told them we were just an hour away from Vegas and we'd stop and see them. They were shocked--people from back east have no concept that many of us from out west drive through Vegas all the time (and we usually don't stop--neither of us are fond of smoky casinos).
So Las Vegas, here we come.......
Our friends pulled some strings and got us tickets to the sold out NFR that night. We had never been to the NFR, it was very loud, with the announcer screaming the whole time. Kind of a bizzare show, I have been to rodeos but never one as loud or fast paced as this second-to-last Final night.
Here are some reindeer at the Bellagio courtyard.
My next posting will be about the California part of our trip.
