Here is some information and links that I have gathered from various news organizations for Katrina animal rescue. As you probably know, many of the rescued people had to leave their pets behind in heartbreaking situations. Please donate if you can and pass this donation and rescue information along.



The Humane Society of the United States - Call 1-800-Humane1, or e-mail disaster@hsus.org to report pets in danger.

New Orleans Hotline For People Who Left Animals In Homes -

Please call and leave name, address of confined animal, species, number of
animals, and when food would have run out.

Hotline For Evacuees In Houston Area -

The Houston SPCA is now accepting animals from storm victims staying in
Houston area shelters.

Pets Traveling With Owners -
The Louisiana Veterinary Association (LVMA) is currently accepting pets.

People With Pets Who Are Currently Evacuating New Orleans -
The Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LA/SPCA)
will transport animals from pick-up points in New Orleans to the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center at 9039 St. Landry Rd., Gonzales, LA

Snowball Fund
A little boy had to leave his dog behind when boarding an evacuation bus. This fund is for reward money to find Snowball, and the balance of donations will be for animal rescue.

Katrina Animal Rescue Fund (North Shore Animal League)
A New York animal shelter that will be taking in homeless animals.

Houston SPCA Another animal shelter that has already taken in hundreds of animals.
