Plein Air In My Yard
The other day I realized that summer is coming to an end so I did two
plein air paintings in my yard. I love my yard and spend a lot of time
each spring and summer planting flowers, watering, and pulling weeds. I
am a compulsive flower planter, I can't seem to stop. I did these two
paintings so when the weather turns cold, I can remember the fine
flowers and the warm days.
The left painting is 9" x 12", the swan planter on the right is 8" x 10". I worked on them for an hour each one afternoon, then finished them up for an additional hour each the following afternoon at the same time of day so the shadows would be the same.
