Pro-America? Oh please.

Quote from Sarah Palin, visiting Greensboro, NC:

'"We believe that the best of America is in the small towns that we get to visit, and in the wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard-working, very patriotic, very pro-America areas of this great nation," she said.'

The "real America" line's been trotted out way too much by politicians of both parties, to much eye-rolling of those of us who DARE to live in the fake America, er, metro areas. The little "pro-America" jibe is new though. Get over it, Sarah Palin -- pro-America and pro-conservative are a HELL of a long way from the same thing, and your "liberals hate America" argument is beyond ridiculous. Yes, I said hell. You betcha.

And thank you, Joe Biden, for calling her out on that -- just don't let me catch you or Obama slipping into that "real America" thing. Palin backpedaled later, of course -- but that little slip is way too indicative of that nasty red-state-blue-state level of politics.
