Big Fat Bicycle Bummer!
For the last month I have been looking for a new bicyle. A roadbike to be exact. My mountain bike is a piece of crap and Jeremiah has been helping me look for a new bike. Last week a friend of his gave him an older road bike that fit me perfectly. I was super excited because it seemed like a gift from heaven. We took the wheels off and put it in my trunk.
I talked to Jeremiah last night and he told me that I should take it to a bike shop and have them put the wheels back on for me and replace the brake pads and that he would do some more work on it when he gets back. JV came up to visit me today so I took him to the shop with me and we left it there for a couple of hours. When I went to pick it up they gave me some pretty bad news. The bike is a lost cause. The frame is bent, the spokes are eroding, and the entire thing is too rusted up. Its been kept outside for way too long. The guy at the shop told me to drop it and never look at it again.
Now I'm totally bummed out! I was so excited of getting rid of my mountain bike and starting out on my new road bike. I guess this just means that I have to continue my search for my roadbike. This just sucks. I really want to talk to Jeremiah about it but I have to be patient and wait to talk to him tonight when he calls me to 1) let me know he's still alive, and 2) Let me know what his itinerary is for tomorrows ride.
I miss him terribly.
