(no subject)
Geez, I've been slacking...I can't believe it's been about a month since I last updated. But go figure, once I started school I knew I wouldn't be able to update as often. Anyway the end of my summer went well, too quick, as usual, but well. I finished up work and the last week I got to spend a couple of half days with my 3 year olds so that made my happy. Plus, to my surprise, my work gave me a lil bonus - a gift card to Marshall's. It wasn't much but it was really nice, and much more than I expected. They said they'd like to have me back next summer so I hope it all works out. I'd like to go back but I also need more hours so we'll see. I'm gonna miss some of the kiddies though.
So I've started my senior year!! I still can't believe this is my last year of schooling (well probably not, because I probably will go for my master's in a couple years...) but we'll just say my last consecutive years of school. I was glad to be back in my own living quarters and it was amazing seeing my friends. I loooove my roomies -- Chelsea is in my room and Jonelle and Felice are in the other room. Plus, it helped that I already knew them and liked them all :) The downside is I am going to work my butt off this semester. I mean I will literally have like no time. I'm taking five class but they are all on M, T and Wed night. So all day Wed, Thur and Fri I am teaching at CCS. My placement is in grades 2-3 (like last year) but with a different teacher, Mrs. Leach. So far, I love my teacher and my class! I think in that respect I will learn a lot and have a great time in my placement but classes will be tough. I have to write a unit for each class, in addition to extra lesson plans and work. Plus, I'm still trying to work two days at the writing center, but that could very well change...Anyway at least I am good friends with all of the nine people in my methods class. And I know they are there for me when I need them to vent, lol. But good news, Kev and I just had our 2.5 year anniversary on Monday. Crazy long time! But good :) I think we might go out to dinner on Thursday to celebrate and hopefully I'll have happy hour with the girls Friday night!
Ooh and I already got asked to substitute for my class. My teacher is going to be out tomorrow afternoon and I'll be the sub. She gave me the science lesson that she's teaching in the afternoon so I should be good. I'm kinda nervous but the kids usually are respectful and listen so it shouldn't be too bad. Wish me luck!!
