Submerge Recap
This will probably be a very long post, so i warn you in advance
starting with arrival at the annex, we got there and just kinda chilled until it was about time to leave. They showed us a video before we left about the camp rules, which was pretty good :p. it was your basic stuff like respect others and no weapons, no cellphones, no purple (inside joke), no drugs and things of that nature. there were three buses that took us to gulf shores, and i got in bus number 3. i sat in front of charis and behind jordan (i had a seat to myself *yes*) guys couldnt sit next to girls, 'cause of the no purple rule, but that was ok, 'cause i wanted my own seat anyway. charis brought the pacifier, so we watched that. after that was over, they put in napolean dynamite (i refused to watch it). then after that was over, charis had brought that will ferrel movie, Elf. we started to watch that, but only got like 10 minutes into it before the took it off, 'cause no one was paying any attention to it. they then put in the HPC cd, Lord of all the Earth, and we listened to music the rest of the way there. when we arrived, we unloaded and we found our room buddies and what room we were in. i got in in room 307 with Blake and Donald as leaders, the other guys included Howie, Dustin Philips, David, and the other two i can't remember their names at the moment. on the way up, i found out from andrew (fried riches) that the tech team's room went out and bought an xbox and Halo 2, talk about desperate. anyway, we settled into our rooms but we had to wait till 6:46 to eat (the girls ate first) so we killed time by heading over to the beach and just walking around a little bit. the walk to the meeting area where we ate and where the room where we did the worship and preaching and stuff was like a mile away, and in the heat, it wasnt very fun. but being the men we are(?) we stuck it out and walked there (just keep in mind the mile walk each time). when we finally got there, we headed up and went into the eating room and ate... obviously. then after that we just kinda hung around till service started.

T.O.: "No that was just the air conditioner"
worship started (i was sitting next to jordan), and it was awesome. most of the songs were hillsong songs, but they were just awesome. then when chad daniels preached, it was like he preached on topics that you would never normally hear in a church service, i heard some people even made a list of things that they never heard in church before, but thats chad daniels for you. anyway, the service (which started at 7:30) didnt end till around like 11:30, and it was worth ever minute of it, but like chad said, it was only the beginning. i walked back, though i saw a few people that cheated and got a ride back. it seemed that all the leaders that were checking on all the rooms seemed to like stop at our room, that night T.O. came in and stayed with us talking and stuff and I didnt get to bed till like 12:30, which was the earliest i went to bed that whole trip.
The next day, Howie and Blake went to the CFC rom to pick up our breakfast (pancakes), and woke us up at around 8 o'clock. our refrigerator at over 100 drinks in it for just 8 of us for the 4 days, 24 drpeppers, 24 sprites, 24 cokes, 12 waters, a case of orange juice, a case of chocolate milk, and some gatorade... so we were loaded out. morning service (which was really morning worship, since there was no preaching) was also as awesome as the night before, like the whole trip was just worth the worship. after that, which ended like right before lunch, we went to our rooms and had some burgers that cooking for christ made up for us, after we ate in our rooms, we went out and got into our teams, for the games. in my team, was dustin from my room, ashlynn, and a few other people, our leader was none other than Jennifer Laird (Pastor Tweezy's wife). the game that day was to make a sand structure that represented some scripture of the bible. our group went along with the submerge theme and dug a big hole in the ground and filled it with water. we put some hermit crabs in it (like as predators) and wrote "DIVE IN" in front of it. it was to go along with the Deep calls unto Deep theme. there were some pretty neat ideas, one group built like a cave, and big rock shaped like a circle on the outside, it was kewl.
I never actually found out what we placed, but im pretty sure we didnt win anything... oh well
after that, we just kinda chilled out and played on the beach. one little group of us decided to make it out to the sandbar about 100 yards out. the group didnt make it, but not for lack of trying... then some of us went to the pool, and there was a big gathering there of refugees and some of the bigger guys, like Howie and Chris, were launching people out of the water. the smaller people were doing flips in the air and stuff, it was great. then we went to our rooms and had pizza for dinner, then we headed over to the assembly area. i hitched a ride on the back of donald's truck's tailgate. service that night was also the bomb (but i had to work, wassa wif dat). on the way back to the condo, i hopped on the back of Mike Havilan's SUV, and also on the back were Charis and Fried Riches, and that was interesting all in itself. we went up to our room, and one of the best parts of the trip was then. it was like this, it was late at night, we have all these pancakes boxes (i have no idea how we ended up with so many...) and there was all this syrup. so us being boys, and bored, we dared Howie to pour all the maple syrup into a glass and chugg it, so we did. we filled the glass about 3/4 full and he chugged it. i think we got a video of it. it was really funny :p
Then we woke up to friday, the last full day (which by far was the best, and not only in worship)
Lets see if I can get this right. We woke up (that stupid siren thingy on Blake's phone went on every ten minutes from 7:30 till we finally woke up at around 8:30) and ate breakfast, honeybuns and cereal and stuff. We headed over to the assembly area (we cheated and took the tram over there ^^) and got ready for morning morship. It lasted till noon, and as usual was awesome. after that we headed to our rooms and picked up our lunch (which was hotdogs... and i refused to eat them, i hate hotdogs), so i ended up like filling up on fritos...
