I was fortunate enough to have the day off today, and since all of the back-to-school sales were going on, I thought it would be the perfect time to take Celes back-to-school shopping for the first time. It was my first time as well, as I normally had to make due with what I had from the year previous.
Things have changed quite a lot in over twenty years, I must say. There's glue that is blue. Celes happily informed me that there are "150 Crayolas, silly Papa" when I insisted there were only 80 at the very most. How do they dream up 150 unique colours and names? And how do they make glue blue? Is there really a point to "safety scissors" when the regular ones aren't dangerous at all, or did I just come from a time when children didn't aspire to poke their eyes out with scissors?
I feel so very old. While I recognize a few of the characters that are on Celes' new backpack, lunchbox, and some of her new clothes, simply because I get to watch television with her sometimes, they're all entirely different. Is anyone else having this problem besides me?
Also, I need some advice. Celes expressed interest in having her ears pierced, like her Papa and Mommy both do. While I'm flattered she wants to imitate us like that, I can't help but think it's because three of her friends have their ears pierced. I personally think she's a bit young for that, but I could use some help on this, as I've noticed I'm a tad...old fashioned.
Zidane, your new cage for Puck is finished, and I can deliver it to you, whenever is convenient for you. I still don't think we're even, but I don't think I ever will, and I'm sorry.
