I have about 6 weeks until I head home for Christmas. I'm very excited to have this break. It's been a full year since I've been home this time, unlike last year.
I still need to get the flight info from the school, though. I know how "last-minute" things are here sometimes and I'm worried that some wires will get crossed or something and the school will have forgotten to book the trip. Ugh. I left a note for the head KT when I went in Saturday for a couple hours, so hopefully, I'm worried about nothing and I'll get the info this week.
Beyond that, I'm working and paying off debts slowly. Thinking occasionally about what's next.
I know I want to stay in education. My ideal job would be teaching others how to teach, but that's a "down the road" sort of thing. Right now, I'm considering everything from getting certified to college teaching to tutoring to Japan. I think after the holidays, I'll start getting more serious about all those options.
In a perfect world, I'll be able to go home in May and take a couple months to relax and explore those options before making any decisions. I think that is possible, as I'm trying to save up a little bit while continuing to pay bills off.
Part of me would love to settle down and get a job stateside that allows me to get my own home and start a family soon. But I'm not totally unhappy with the idea of 1 or 2 more years abroad.
Ultimately, though, I know I just want to keep teaching.
Still, I'm due for a battery recharge.
