Okay, so I've been obsessed with OMG Check Please! recently, and if you know OMGCP, you know that the main character Bitty is all about hockey, boys and pie. Since I've never baked a pie in my life, I figured it was about time. So in honour of Eric Bitty Bittle, I decided to bake a pie.
Of course, today's a holiday in my country so no shops are open, so I had to use what I could. The pie turned into a Banana Tart Tatin because I had bananas and not much else in the way of fruit, but I'm sure Bitty would have appreciated the effort. *g* (And I'm sure the rest of the boys would eat just about anything...)
I used this recipe and started with the dough early this morning. Since there are four ingredients, it was pretty easy. After a few hours, I started the filling. And realized I didn't own a pie form... /o\ BUT I do own a small heart-shaped baking dish, so I ended up using that. Whatever works, right?
Anyway, things went pretty smoothly after that. And the Banana Tart Tatin turned out pretty tasty.
So, I really enjoy making bracelets and necklaces with phrases from my favorite shows and movies. I decided to finally make a Better Call Saul inspired set that I've been wanting to make ever since I started doing this. It hasn't been that long since I started over the summer, primarily influenced by my need to show how much I liked the movie Popstar. The bracelet I wear the most often says 'I'm so humble' since it was my favorite song from Popstar. I have a few from other shows/movies including Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, SNL, B99, Twin Peaks, Arrested Development, and Kids in the Hall.
Here is a picture of my newest set: Squat Cobbler and Chicago Sunroof! I thought these were two great scenes from Better Call Saul. I hope every season has a scene like this, with the story behind a phrase Jimmy uses. These scenes make me happy, since they show how funny Better Call Saul can be while still showing how Jimmy might become Saul .
Thanks! I love making these for all sorts of things. I started making them when my sister suggested I wear more fandom accessories since I don't wear t-shirts as often now.
