So I may have written a bit of a novel here. I might not be musical myself, but I love listening to music.

What era of music is your favorite? Why?
I have to admit, probably the most recent era - I am a huge fan of hard rock music and symphonic metal and I tend to gravitate towards things that are heavy on electric guitar, bass, and vocals. I also love electronic dance music because of the beat.

What are some of your favorite music artists or bands from the 50s? 60s? 70s? 80s? 90s? and 2000s? I’m not huge on 50s artists/bands, unfortunately, since I haven’t listened to a lot of them so I don’t have a lot of favorites from then ( ... )

I love the Phantom of the Opera! We did songs from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical in choir, which got me to read the book and then look for all the movies. I'd listened to a bunch of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals as a kid, but Phantom got me into modern musicals.

We make time each Christmas to go see whatever's playing at the Kennedy Center. Some of them are good, some bad, but I honestly enjoy all of them.

I've been meaning to read the original Phantom novel for ages, but I keep forgetting about it since I have so many books to read. I had completely forgotten about Rodgers and Hammerstein until you brought it up, but I loved those musicals as well!

We used to do that with the local venue, though it was mostly the Nutcracker that I remember. Local shows are pretty darn cook. Do you have any particular favorites of the ones you've seen there?

The Light in the Piazza is my hands-down favorite, but Bright Star comes a close second.

The really sad thing is that I can't for the life of me remember what my favorite song by them is called since it's been so long since I listened to it and it's on my dad's iTunes all the way back home. :(

Oh, man. That's a really tough question. I love so many of their songs, especially from Dear Agony. I think I'm going to have to go with Without You. That song in particular has stuck with me and gets stuck in my head, though Give Me A Sign, Breath, Angels Fall, and Failure are pretty close.
