The last book I read was Parasite by Mira Grant, and right now I'm reading Sparrow Hill Road by Seanan McGuire.

In general I usually recommend anything by Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant (they're the same person). Also I often recommend War for the Oaks by Emma Bull, which is still one of my most favorite urban fantasy novels ever and one of the few books I've read several times.

If I hosted a book club, I'd serve cupcakes or maybe cookies or both and tea. I love tea!

I love Mira Grant's Newsflesh trilogy, but haven't read anything else of hers.

I loved the Newsflesh trilogy.
Did you hear that there is going to be another book in that world. Different Characters and it will show the democratic side of the presidential race.

I didn't! That's so exciting!

Are there other Mira Grant books outside of that world, or does she mostly write as Seanan McGuire for the other books?

Here's the info on the new Newsflesh book (and other Mira Grant updates).

Parasite is another Mira Grant book it came out last year and it is the first in a new series and is not in the Newsflesh world, the second book comes out in November of this year.

What is War for the Oaks about?

It was published in 1987 and is one of the early works in urban fantasy.

It's about a human woman who's a rock musician who gets pulled into a faerie war somehow. She balances the crazy stuff with the faerie courts while trying to putting her band together. I love the characters so much and the story is great.
