My To Be Read list is super long so I could probably do this list multiple times :) All of these books, I've only read the synopsis on goodreads, nothing else

1. A Banned book (I have heard the music from the movie for this but only because a figure skater used it and I loved it)

I havent read Brideshead Revisited before either. I was surprised how many books on the banned list I have read.

That one was pretty tough for me because as a librarian I've read a lot of them but I wanted to highlight that because I'm pretty against banning books :)

The Sleepwalkers is going on my TBR list! Sounds so interesting - a nice mix of murder and history.

"Where the Light Enters" -- what a lovely title. I clicked over to read the recap, sounds like it's something I might enjoy!

At one point in my life, I was very interested in Holocaust history. I was in DC when the Holocaust Museum opened, and when I was student teaching they were doing all they could to help with lesson plans. Oregon right now is considering making the Holocaust mandatory in elementary education.

I don't know if I can read "Three Minutes in Poland" nowadays. For some reason, I've become more sensitive to the plights. The sheer magnitude of loss. I might see if there is a documentary and put it on in the background and just listen to it. I watched "Labyrinth of Lies" (an amazing movie) and it was hard enough to get through the infuriating emotions of how the Germans nearly got away with their Nazi past, even in the years closest after the war.

I heard that about Oregon (I'm originally from the Northwest and grew up going to Portland at least once a year) and I'm beyond thrilled.

For me, I still get sad but I more get angry. Angry that the US knew what was going on and yet did almost absolutely nothing to help.

I didn't realize Brideshead Revisited was on the Banned Book List but I guess it wasn't 'acceptable' at the time it was written and published due to the implied homosexuality. I saw the TV adaption so many years ago but have never read the book. Another book set aroudn the same period is Maurice by E. M. Forster. The description: A tale of homosexual love in early 20th-century England, it follows Maurice Hall from his schooldays through university and beyond.
