Something strange happened to me last week.

I fell in love (or, at the very least, deep infatuation). With a show.

Stranger still, that show was Doctor Who, for which I had professed my hatred for months when Kim was watching it and I would catch the odd episode here and there (I must've caught all of the duds).

She hadn't seen season/series 6 yet, though, so last week when we were hanging on the couch and not doing much of anything, she asked if I'd mind if she watched the season 6 opener. I reluctantly agreed.

And then I watched it. And it was brilliant. And I promptly demanded that we go back and watch a lot more of the show. And now we are caught up (skipped around a bit, especially the early seasons) and I am in geek love.

Things that make me geek out/squeal/cry/have feelings:
- Are you my mummy?
- Anything and everything having to do with Weeping Angels
- Donna's last episode (OMG MY TEARS)
- Family of Blood
- Fish fingers and custard
- Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead (which I saw in order and again after I'd seen season six and it destroyed me both times)
- Ten's regeneration
- River Song because holy crap what a BAMF
- The Last Centurion because OMG Rory
- There's a first time for everything/And a last time
- The freaking Van Gogh episode
- The ood! I LOVE THE OOD.
- Anything and everything to do with River/Doctor because holy crap what a cool way to tell a love story.

There are more things. I feel the need to rewatch everything. Also, Kim and I bought geeky shirts and I can't wait for them to get here. Also, we have decided to go to Dragon*Con when we're in Atlanta and to dress up as peeps. (She'll probably be Amy Pond because she's tall and skinny and I'll probably be River because I have boobs and I am pretty sure that I can make my hair large. We are ignoring the awkward familial implications.)

Anyway, it's fun. New fandom is fun. It's been a while, for me.

geekiness, doctor who
