TRIP IDEAS!

In an effort to rejuvenise this Comm and get some kind of debate going I'm posting this and linking to it in the Society email.

We're considering organising a trip of some kind for the Society, funded (at least in part) from our budget. As I've said before, there aren't any cons happening until the summer and that's a bit too late really, so does ( Read more... )

Margam Country Park & Go Ape! anonymous February 9 2010, 21:13:52 UTC
I'd suggest Margam Park, which is near Port Talbot. Not only has it featured (in various guises) in Doctor Who, Torchwood AND Sarah Jane Adventures, but there is also a very awesome looking Go Ape! assault course type-thing, and there are woodland walks and other stuff to do for those who are scared of heights. I'll have to do a bit more research myself, but I have already been there several times (not on the assault course, alas!), and can honestly say it really is fantastic fun all round (not least because there are loads of things for kids, which are usually free for - ahem- bigger kids to try outside school holidays!
Will get back with more info as I find it

Ah, it's not a wacky warehouse exactly, but it's one of those ballpit/soft play/slides and swings places and they do adult sessions in the evenings... Here's a link - Playzone ...I know, the name makes it sound like porn. I'm ignoring that part.

I'm going there with the HP gals, so I'll recon and let everyone know how awesome it is...

I'd be happy with any of these places, though I have been to Margam Park and Techniquest many times, so they aren't so interesting to me.
My personal favourite would be paint balling as I've never done it.

Richard.

Playzone does sound cool.

I second the Techniquest trip, especially since they do student discount on Wednesday afternoons.

Another suggestion - Doctor Who Exhibition trip :)
