A Wii Of An Update...

”Things were never easy for me
peace of mind was hard to find
and I needed a place where I could hide
somewhere I could call mine”
- Genesis, No Son Of Mine

Not too much to report on, but here’s what’s what…

Still reading The Sword of Shannara. It’s slow going, but I’m liking it, so here’s to more!

Got my couple orders in the mail the other day form Amazon. X-Men Legends 1 and 2 for GameCube, SW: Last of the Jedi #s 5 and 6 young reader books and Shatner’s new ST hardback, Captain’s Glory. I really can’t wait to start that, but it’s a long ways off.

John at work really ticked me off Tuesday, crossing the line from disrespect to flat out ignorance.
As I’ve said before, a new girl started. She’s pretty nice and we get along good, and I’ve been working with her, closing a couple nights with her as well, training her and getting her up to speed. It happened to be me, her and John Tuesday, all day.
Tuesday, when he was alone with her out at the counter (she was going over some data), he made the off handed remark, “Jason hit on you yet?” She was thrown off and simply went “Excuse me?” He asked again, and went on saying how much he disagreed with my lifestyle (while nothing almost nothing off it since I don’t tell him anything) and that I was dating Heather, and went on and on about how he didn’t like my decisions. I also found out that the previous Saturday (when it was just him and her), all she kept hearing from him was “Don’t do things how Jason tells you. This is how I do them” as well as just blaming me for mistakes on projects he had no clue if I did or not (and turned out I didn’t).
Needless to say, I was ticked and the new girl wasn’t all that happy about it either and so she told me/asked me about it Tuesday night when it was just us 2 working. I was so furious I called the Supervisor at home then and there and told her it was over the line and I wasn’t going to stand for it.
She was very understanding, and said she’d say something, even talk to Mr. M (the owner of the store) and see what’s to be done about it. I won’t find out anything till Saturday when I work with the Supervisor again (off today and tomorrow), but she said she’d prob say something to him this morning.
Aside from that though, work has been pretty decent. We’re getting caught up and finally a day or so ahead now, which is really good.
And it’s still good Mizd_1 is back!!

Speaking of the Supervisor, she and her husband asked me to work on their laptop (son’s mainly, but they all use it). They said it was pretty screwed up from their son’s friends and such. They even took it to a tech guy who said he saw no way to fix things. Best bet was to wipe out and start over.
Well, it’s not something I’ve really had to do before and I was a little worried about it. But they had all the disks and my father (who is well versed in all things PC) was nice enough to be there incase I needed him. Turns out, I didn’t. The restore CD Gateway gave them is a nice one at that, containing every program that comes straight from them, along with windows and drivers, etc. So, simply reformatted and reinstalled everything. It’s up and running like a charm now, and currently, I have it updating.
As kind of a payment for fixing it for them, they gave me a spare wireless router they had.

the wireless router is a pretty nice one, and now allows me to not only link mine and Adelle’s computer together better (and with faster net), I no longer have to have my PC on for her to have net.
In addition,…I can now use the Wi-Fi on the Wii and Adelle’s DS!!! Yay! So, everyone with a Wii, IM me your Reg # and I’ll add you and give you mine! I currently have Tara and Terin added, so that’s 2 down!

I suppose that’s it for now. Not much else going on.
Later!

wii, video games, books, work (okay), the sword of shannara, work (bad)
