So when I went to the self proclaimed "House Dr." to find out what was wrong with my body- (this was pre-Celiac diagnosis) and he told me that he thought I had herpes on my hands- case solved! He was dead wrong.
I got a chuckle today after reading a Celiac community post which someone had posted that on the actual T.V. show "House, M.D." they recently aired an episode about celiac disease! Season 2, Episode 22 ("Forever").
Based on this episode (Mom is so malnourished that she has bloody vomit, seizures, and psychosis - and the urge to kill her baby?). While I have talked with people who were in such bad shape pre-diagnosis, that this kind of stuff actually happened to them. Thanks god it's not as dramatic with me! It was funny that the woman even had a child- most Celiacs can't get pregnant because of malnutrition causing infertility.
I guess I'll have to watch this episode now to see how inaccurate it really is.
