Happy Holidays everyone!

Out here, Christmas Eve is THE night to celebrate Christmas. In the afternoon my parents went to the cemetery to put up candles on our relatives graves while me and my brothers watched Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Both very respectable ways to remember your loved-ones. ;-) Then we had a sauna and ate until we dropped. After a nap to lessen the food-induced coma we gave our presents. Santa hasn't visited us in a few years so I'm usually the official Christmas elf whose responsibility it is to decipher which present belongs to whom with less than helpful comments from the peanut gallery. Despite general protests dad always insists on lighting a fire so the gift-giving is a very sweaty and red-faced process. I got some great presents including red, striped toe-socks and a few Jane Austen books!

After that there was a Scrabble tournament in which mom kept "forgetting" the rules and tried to stick words in places they definitely didn't belong. Surprisingly she still came second. Dad was automatically disqualified for being a smart-ass. He participated by harassing mom. Mom's excellent attempt at psychological warfare by strategic humming failed when we threatened to lock her outside if she didn't stop. I was only third but I blame the glög (glühwein) for that. ;-) Only one fight broke out over the game but I still maintain that työhame (work-skirt) is NOT a word. I was overruled. This years winner was brother J by a landslide and he also held the record for most dirty words used in a game.

All in all, a very fun Christmas! Tomorrow is much of the same. Sleeping late, reading books, watching videos and eating a lot. (And of course reading Sesa stories! Woo! \o/)

Here are a few award-winning short films that are responsible for perverting my view of Father Christmas for good: Rare Exports Inc and Rare Exports Inc, The official safety instructions. NWS for some manly bits and violence but nothing too bad. Dark humour, watch at your own risk!

Also for your kinky listening pleasure: Fist Me This Christmas and Do You Take It? by the Wet Spots. NWS lyrics and images so don't watch in front of the mother-in-law. Enjoy!
