Chanel had asked for the impossible a million times over. A part of her didn't really want to, but the rest of her, wanted him to prove it. To prove that he cared about her. No one else had ever said they loved her. Not even her parents. And no one had ever even done half of what she had asked when she tried to make them prove it. A small part of her had expected him to leave. A small part of her had wanted him to leave. It would be easier that way. Then she could say he'd never meant it and carry on as if nothing had changed.

She had asked for reindeer to decorate with in the yard, and when he'd showed up with the kind that are made of metal and lights, she had rolled her eyes and called him stupid and said, I meant real reindeer. And that there had to 8 of them Donner and Prancer and Blitzen and Rudolph and whatever the hell the rest of them were named, how was she supposed to remember. He had somehow gotten a zoo to lone him eight reindeer.

She had wanted Tinsel, in hot pink. She was pretty sure they didn't sell that color. He had spent probably hours spray painting it all the right color.

And the list went on and on.

But she knew the last thing would be impossible. It was supposed to be 70 degrees today, on Christmas Eve and she wanted to dance in the snow tonight at midnight. Cisco didn't seem nervous, even though she pointed out every five minutes that it was never going to happen. He wasn't going to be able to get her everything she wanted and Christmas would be ruined.

So at 11:55 pm she was pouting in her room at Star Labs, thinking that he didn't care, or that he had thought the task too difficult, thinking he hadn't even tried, when he leaned against her door frame. "You ready to dance?" he asked.

"Not unless it's snowing," she said defiantly. "And it's a billion degrees outside, so it's not snowing. And Christmas is ruined!" And you don't care. He just stood there with that jolly aggravating grin on his face.

"How about if you let me worry about the snow?" He held his hand out to her. And she felt like the best thing to do would be to refuse him, no way was it snowing, and no way was she settling for halfway. He'd just have to try harder next time, if she let him.

But a part of her was curious, because he'd found a way for everything so far. "Fine. But if it's snowing, I'm coming back inside," She said, as she brushed past him and walked outside on her own. It was warm enough to be outside in shorts and bare feet. "See." She gestured around her, as if to say he was dumb for believing it could snow. "No snow." She started to storm off. But he said. "Just one second." So she stopped and crossed her arms over her chest and looked down her nose for him and tapped her foot while she waited.

He walked over to some large metal object, kind of like a gun and pressed a button, and small bits of snow started to fly out. He'd used the freeze gun with some modifications to simulate snow. He turned to her, and held out his hand. "Can I have this dance?"

She was stunned, silent, frozen. She couldn't even respond. He had made snow. They were going to dance in the snow. She didn't even realize she was crying until he wiped away the tears. "It's the snow," she lied, her voice much softer now, as she let him pull her into his arms and they began to sway together, no music playing. She was silent for a long time, her cheek on his shoulder, just enjoying the moment. A possible first for her. He tried to pull away, but she held him closer. "I love you too."
