Would I be able to use a favorite book for this? It's not really a fandom, per se, since it's a stand-alone, but I'd be talking about the same sorts of things (why I love it, who else would enjoy it, etc.)

[Why I love Nikita]If asked why everyone should find and watch the most recent Nikita series, the short answer would be "Maggie Q." Full stop. But in case that's not enough, here's my long answer... )

[The Map of Time by Felix J. Palma]
Whenever I travel somewhere, especially somewhere new, I buy a book (or two...or three). I used to by souvenirs that wound up gathering dust or shoved away in boxes, so I decided to start buying something useful instead. In 2011, I found myself in a bookstore in Seattle, where my husband was visiting a friend. I try VERY hard not to judge books by their covers, but in this case, I couldn't help it. Right at the front of the store was a book with a partially holographic cover. The man depicted wore a top hat and held a pocket watch, two things I adore. The title read The Map of Time, and it was written by an author of whom I'd never heard, named Felix J. Palma. I bought it on a whim, and it became the best book I read the entire year
