Sealed in Closure
Behind him, Matsuda had freaked, and was now hyperventilating pressed against the wall. The small team of investigators froze in their place, awaiting the next death.
The clock ticked, and a sigh of relief spread across the room.
Siza struggled to stand. "W-We must c-call an ambulance."
"B-But he hasn't got any I.D.," Aizawa managed to choke out.
"I-It doesn't matter..." His father hastily ushered the team through the door. "We... We'll take him there... Aizawa... Go bring some sheets."
"Matsuda... Come on," Siza urged, taking a hold of the man's arm. Matsuda quivered and allowed himself to be pulled.
"Light-kun... You coming?" His father asked softly.
"N-No... I think... I think I'll stay with Ryuuzaki for a while longer..."
"..."
"Please..." Light bit his tongue, and pleaded when his father refused to move.
"All right..." The chief gave his son a light pat on the shoulder before leaving.
Light was now alone with L.
He kneeled down beside the body, checking once, twice, for a sign of life. A solemn smile spread across his face. With only the glaring white walls to bare witness, Light leaned forward, placing both hands on either side of the head for support.
Light pressed his mouth against the cold, parted lips. There were still a few more hours before rigor mortis [1] would begin to set in, he noted.
L tasted of death.
Light pulled back. He exhaled. He took a hand and pushed the eyelids closed.

[1] Rigor mortis is a state all corpse go through, and is an inevitable sign of death. After 3 or 4 hours, chemical changes in the muscle cause them to contract and become stiff and rigid. Rigor takes full effect at 12 hours and usually begin to relax at around 36 hours. However, times may also vary depending on the moisture and temperature of the environment.
Like always, feedback, especially constructive feedback, are eternal <3 :)
Poohoo, I'm getting so much of my writing done *starts crossing them off my to-do list*.
