Kidney Stoned
Interesting past week.
Cystophophy (spelling?) on Monday, rubber stint in my ureter, spinal anesthesia made me paralyzed from waist down for few hours. Stone not going anywhere. Found it to be 8 mm wide instead of 3 mm. 3 mm long though.
The camera did find something interesting while exploring my bladder. Saw two holes. Explored them both. Well, it is confirmed now why I like comic books so much. I am a mutant. Yes. After 43 years of life it was just discovered that I have TWO fully formed and functioning left side kidneys. I shit you not.
Surgical procedure #1 done.
Being paralyzed for hours meant no driving on tuesday for work.
Wednesday, this time to visit the oral surgeon before my Dental insurance runs out. Litocaine instead of Novocaine. Nitrous Oxide to give me the happy feeling. Out goes two left wisdom teeth and lower back molar. Stitches ensued. Mmmmm, the special taste of blood in your mouth all the time. Almost ran out of gauze. Cannot chew, ergo cannot eat unless in micro-sized bites. And the blood glaze, mmm, mmm, gack! Will follow-up next week Thursday, they promise its covered.
Surgical procedure #2 done.
Thursday, time for lipthotripsy (spelling?), light on anesthesia so not totally knocked out. Removed the stint. Sonic blasted the kidney stone. Couldn't see it in the ultrasound. Doc thinks he got it! Yippee I say.

Thursday night, discomfort. maybe sore from surgery?
Friday, lose job. Last day say goodbye to many. Stop at Fridays to say goodbye to more, promise to see them tonight for the big goodbye party at Vianove in Ferndale.
Driving home, pain is back, its the kidney stone again! Snow, sleet, shitty drivers. Too slow, Too fast. Why you in front of me? C'mon already. Shit, driving and bent over in pain on snowy roads, C'mon make the fucking turn. Trying to stop. too late rolled stop sign, car other way decided to turn, whew! Home, Hands full, damn, boxes, crap from work. Bathroom, need bathroom!
Inside take care of bathroom. Need to sleep and vicodin. Can I make the party?
party time, pain is back just in time, call people let them know i will miss it. Find out later it was a hell of a party, many former employees show. Pain ebbs eventually.
Not going to the emergency room again. Riding it out this weekend, I only have to file unemployment on Monday, nothing else to do until Doctor's office opens on Monday to set up another appointment for an X-Ray or CT scan. I must be glowing by now. Perhaps will grow another kidney on my right side?
When I talk to Charlita online, she worries about me, she hates to see me in pain like this. I tell her not worry, I will survive. Off to nieces b-day party now. Feeling a little pain. Down another Vic.
