I know I'm officially in retirement, but since I'm housebound thanks to the Blizzard of the Century, I figured, why not? *G*
Here, then, is the Sullivan-Kent family’s very first Christmas newsletter. It's short (about 600 words), fluffy, feel-good Chlark schmoop. G-rated, mild spoilers for upcoming episodes. Enjoy! :)
Feedback = Better than a cup of hot cocoa on a chilly day. Yum!!

Dear Friends and Family:
No, you’re not hallucinating. We are actually sending out one of those dreaded holiday newsletters because, let’s face it, a lot has happened this year. It’s been so long since we’ve gotten together with some of you (*special hugs to Pete!*) that we figured this was the best way to catch everyone up.
Besides, we’re newlyweds, so give us a break, OK? We promise not to brag. :)
More about the wedding in a bit, but first, we wanted to give a shoutout to all the wonderful new friends we made this year! Hawkman Carter, Sandman Wesley, Stargirl Courtney and Doctor Fate Kent, what would we have done without you? You set Clark straight but good…even though it wasn’t really Clark at the time. (Note to others: Long story.) We’ll forever be grateful for that.
Oh, and let’s not forget Warrior Angel. You’re a true hero, and you’re an inspiration to both of us. It’s too bad it turned out that you don’t, exactly, exist. (Again, long story.)
Sadly, this year we also suffered the loss of Chloe’s cousin, Lois. She was very special to both of us, and she gave her life in the pursuit of something we both treasure, the truth (although we’re not sure that picking a fight with both Tess AND Zod at the same time was all that great an idea. Her sacrifice inspired us to do a little digging into LuthorCorp's less public activities, which helped us put Tess Mercer behind bars. It also inspired Clark to put Zod back in his Powerball.
We’ve made ourselves a promise to make sure Lois' name lives on. It’s the least we can do to honor her memory.
On a brighter note, thanks to little Jimmy Olsen for sending us the very first pix you took with your big brother’s camera! Those action shots of the clown who tried to hold up your local bank were amazing. The police told us your close-up of his face was a huge help in tracking him down. Way to go, Jimmy! We hope you don’t mind this, but we sent them off to our friend Perry White, and he thinks you’ve got loads of potential.
Speaking of Perry, it’s great to see you back where you belong! We both knew that sooner or later you’d get that job as editor at the Daily Planet, once LuthorCorp and Tess lost control of the paper. Although we *were* kind of surprised when you hired Chloe without an interview, or even a job application. You said journalism was in my her blood…..and you were right, Chief.
Congratulations, Perry. We couldn’t ask for a better boss-but please don’t quote us on that! ;)
Ooops, sorry, almost forgot to mention the wedding! Well, once we were both back at the Planet and Clark was back in his right mind finally settled into big-city life, we had a chance to have a no-holds-barred three-round fight clear the air about Clark's former erratic behavior. After that, things just seemed to happen naturally.
Not that we ever expected to end up married already-but oddly, it doesn’t feel like a lightswitch to either of us. In fact, if you ask Gabe and Martha (*waves and hugs*!), we’ve been heading in this direction since, oh, about eighth grade. All we can say, Mom and Dad, is that we’re glad we finally made it.
Happy holidays to all, and best wishes for the coming year!
Love,
Chloe and Clark Sullivan-Kent
(aka "Clark Kent and Lois Lane" of the Daily Planet)
