the last day of the year was straight out of some pseudo drama about a dysfunctional family trying to celebrate new years. it's such a tragedy i can't remember what part i should just have a laugh at and forget. definitely the worst new years eve ever. thank god the day before was spent with lovely lovely friends who helped make 2004 a little ( Read more... )

I saw the Concretes for NYE (you are a fan of theirs right?)! They were super (especially the dashing guitarist) and supplied lovingly made heart-shaped gingerbread cookies with 'Happy New Year From The Concretes' written on with icing! HOORAY FOR SWEDISH POP

I was actually there to see my beloved Saint Etienne, but the Concretes (supporting) impressed me so much that I stayed out and bought their record the next morning! The cookies were just sitting on the bar so I didn't get to take any home with me :( The Magic Numbers also played, who seemed like genuinely nice and smiling people, but I kind of don't like guitars much (or beards) (Peter Hook is an exception in both cases).

I hope you have a fabulous 2005 filled with writing gigs! Also for goodness' sake DRAW MORE if you really drew your LJ icon with a mouse! You are hiding talent!
