Section II: *THE CHARACTER*
1. Fandom: The Looking Glass Wars
2. Character Name: Alyss Heart (aka Alice Liddle)
3a. Background/History Link: Wikipedia: Alyss HeartWikipedia: The Looking Glass Wars
4. Point in Canon: End of the first novel
5. Personality: Alyss is an intriguing mix of strength and vulnerability, the sort that comes when one is forced to grow up and make difficult decisions in a very short period of time. Intelligent, brave, and free-thinking, Alyss works to do right by the world around her, to make her parents proud, and to change the land which her aunt Redd had nearly ruined by the poison that is Black Imagination.

Despite her role as queen, Alyss has an unshakable desire to also live for herself. Her childhood, while not exceedingly difficult to handle, was not lived in the manner it ought to have been. Repressing the memories of Wonderland in an effort to blend in to normal London society locked away a part of Alyss that did not have the ability to grow and flourish as a young woman. As such, some of this immaturity is expressed now as she opens herself back up to this world she had thought herself never to see again. She watches her childhood crush, Dodge, with an affectionate eye, wishing that both he and her were in positions where they could simply be a man and a woman with a mutual affection for one another. Unfortunately, her position as Queen and his as Head of the Palace Guard leaves neither able to express anything but a passing fondness for one another.

Alyss is a child and woman of imagination through and through. Even with her ability to create the world in her vision by Imagination, she still works to mold the world using the foundations of White Imagination: love, justice, and duty to the people. But she would still like to be a little selfish once in a while and live for herself, even if only for a moment or two.

6. Class: Elementalist
7. Abilities:
♕ Alyss is a wielder of "White Imagination", the so-called "good" magic that exists in Wonderland. It has been often said that she possesses the most powerful imagination in all of Wonderland, making her the perfect choice to ascend to Queen after the disappearance of her aunt, Redd, who ruled Wonderland with a strong Black Imagination. Alyss' powers center around whatever she can imagine into being, within reason. She cannot imagine people dead, and cannot outright kill foes either. She is able to conjure weapons, machines, and the like into being to use for battle, however, and the more detailed her knowledge of whatever it is she is trying to imagine into reality the stronger, more durable it will be in reality. This talent of hers, however, has several flaws that make it far from unbeatable. She can only hold so many things alive in her Imagination, and trying to keep too many things active will tire her out faster. If her concentration is broken, whatever she has conjured will weaken if not break entirely. Also, it tires her when she uses it for too long, thus it is not something she throws around carelessly.

♕ Going along with her use of White Imagination to conjure objects, it can also be used in an illusionary way as well. If Alyss does not have thorough information about what it is she is trying to replicate, she can instead conjure an illusion of the object/person that she is attempting. This is nothing more than an image that cannot stand on it's own. It has no defensive or offensive capabilities, though can be used to distract and mislead opponents. While these illusionary magics can be used at a distance, they are harder to maintain, and a break in concentration will lead to it all falling apart rather quickly.

♕ Besides her abilities in her White Imagination, Alyss is also what is known in her world as a "Warrior Queen." Armed with a staff, she is a formidable opponent in battle as well, and hardly one to shy away from combat. Combined with her talent in White Imagination, she is quick to react to opponents, able to adapt to changes in battle.
8. Preferred Army: Verity
9. Preferred Position: Soldier

Section III: *SAMPLES*
1. First-person Sample:

Not England. Not Wonderland. Have I really done something so wrong that I don't deserve to call one place home for more than a short time?

I don't suppose I'd be lucky enough to see Dodge here... or even Hatter. Likely not, though I'd like to keep my hopes up, even for a short time. Hope keeps more alive than despair and defeat, after all.

Another war, another fight. It's not my first, and hardly my last, but wouldn't it be nice to live in a world where this was the least of our worries?
2. Third-person Sample: (This is from stedelweiss. If more is needed, please let me know!)

"Thank you." There was again a little tip of her head as she closed the door behind her, moving over to take the offered seat, her hands folded in her lap, years of manners and lessons in proper behaviour impossible to shake at her age. "And it's quite all right, really. I'm sure you wouldn't have called me in if there hadn't been a good reason behind it." Alyss gave him a smile, eyes flicking about the room for a moment, settling on him as he fiddled with the papers, her head tilting slightly to the side in silent curiosity, but that soon fled the moment his voice filled the room once more.

And there it was. Her shoulders sunk down slightly as hte line was breached, and she couldn't help but think back to a similar time where that awful Dodgson sat down under the guise of listening to her stories only to write that horrid book. Fingers fiddled with the fabric of her skirt, her shoulders scooting up towards her ears for a long moment before she forced herself to relax and sit tall.

"You'll have to pardon me, sir, if I'm not entirely eager to talk about home. The last gentleman I had such an honest conversation with did all that he could to betray my trust. I... do not wish for that to happen again. As such, I must admit that..." She closed her eyes for a heartbeat, pausing only briefly. "I would prefer not to talk about that."
