Aah..-sigh of relief- I'm glad the drum major thing is over. It was weird! I was just telling Sarah that the new Drum Majors were supposed to go to the OSMC, but how could they come up with the money so fast?! Deadline for down payments are in two days! I still have to get my formed signed by Grostick.
About the 'chosen ones'...I sorta expected Emilie to get it, and now with one year under her belt, I'm sure she'll improve a lot more this year. Kinda suprised by Sam, but the more I thought about it, the more I believe that him being chosen was sort of an influence thing--But who knows? Maybe he can try and amount to Aaron? -shrug-
I know the people who wanted it so badly...I'm sorry. I know what its like to want something so bad and to not get it, trust me. But, look on the bright side! You still get to march! Hey Sarah, I know you wanted to be Drum Major alot, but I dunno, don't you think that Field Captain is more fun than drum major? What does drum major do that is better than Field Captain? They just conduct, honestly. If you honestly wanted to help the band, you really have the position to do so now, because you're on the field, and you get to take action while you march. (Unless you don't like marching so much...). If its a power thing, well...If its a conducting thing, try again next year.
Morgan-I'm sorry you didn't get it, even though you worked hard and wanted it like nothing else. But take it as a compliment? He needs you on the field, not waving your hands around! Section Leader isn't bad...You're still a leader, and you can still help the band. Its not completely hopeless either. You say you want to continue music, and do it as a through your life, right? Well, if you go onto College marching band (which will probably be better) you can try to be drum major there. AND, now you can work really hard to get into Jazz One!
I know what I say doesn't really matter...but the both of you were really good. I know what disapointment is like, even if you don't believe me. I'm just a little sad over something...even though a good friend wanted to help, they weren't allowed to because someone only wanted that one person....Hmm, this seems to sound familiar.
