I actually am enjoying Liverpool more than Hamilton. There was very little to do on a daily basis in Hamilton and I felt like our lives were stagnant. While Liverpool is comparable in size to Hamilton, it acts more like a larger city, with more museums and galleries and stores. So in that sense, I think it's wildly different. I think it helps too that I have people to hang out with regularly here too, whereas in Hamilton, I didn't.
It definitely is very visually different, probably because it's an old city. I've noticed that unlike many North America cities, the British prefer to preserve their history in the form of old buildings rather than demolish them to make way for the more contemporary. I like that actually. The old buildings still haven't gotten old for me (pun unintended!).
