Sooooo, um, I guess you knew that, huh?
Yeah, I'm a terrible Canadian. And a terrible science person (you see why I kinda-sorta got out of the sciences into something more social-sciency/humanities?).

I hate slush tons too. But I prefer it over ice. Because at least I can walk in slush (my Sketchers shoes give me about an inch of extra height, allowing me to walk in slush without getting my shoes wet). And with ice, I'm super-nervous walking over it, so I go really slow.

Your story about keeping your shoes dry is a better story than mine.
Last week or the week before, I was heading out and I thought to wear my Converse shoes (BAD IDEA). I got a block from my apartment and I was walking on the road, 'cause it was cleaner than the sidewalks. And then this taxi came and I was like, I should walk on the sidewalks to avoid getting hit/splashed. But I had to be quick about it, so I stupidly walked right into a puddle. So my shoes got wet barely five minutes after I left the house.
Your story's better -- at least you went the whole day in dry shoes!

I sometimes wish I don't have to go out either. But I get a little stir-crazy being at home -- I want to go out and do and see stuff!!!
