The work week is ending, but my head doesn’t feel like it.
Six p.m. and I’m still here, tying up the loose ends. It’s been manic. Minor design changes here, change of direction there. Essays to write, freelance to get out the door. Previously neglected rollover states and tagline kerning to obsess over.
That’s all finally wrapped up as I write this, though I neglected a lot of communication to friends and it will have to wait until Monday. I might tidy my desk before I leave just to keep the insanity from spilling into next week.
The good news - I accomplished a lot. Most of my well-overdue thank you notes from Christmas and my birthday are written and sent. My taxes are done. I practiced dance twice intensively, yoga once. Lane and I booked our flight to Toronto for the Tiffany workshop in May and chose two songs to start choreographing. The middle eastern black tent plan is well on it’s way. The basic schematic is finished and I cut out the mini-mockup last night when my sister backed out of dinner and a movie because of the weather.
Tonight I’ll eat the chili that I stewed up Thursday night, watch Batman Begins and sew it so Brian and I can go to Home Depot and transform ordinary dowels into miniature tent stakes and poles.
My major web design project is wrapping (hence the loose ends, but should be mostly on autopilot next week). A new, fresh one is starting. My freelance work for my copywriter/coworker’s wife is nearly complete. One more weekend and some ftp-ing should take care of it. I can feel the checks from it and my tax returns speeding in and giving me more cushion and bringing several steps closer to a new laptop and less debt.
Auf Wiedersehen until Monday.
