What does it say...

...that I found the following exchange on Conan O'Brien incredibly funny?

In the Year 2000 --
An English Major will break up with her boyfriend, but will make him feel better by assuring him that:
"It's not you, it's I."Hee. I love James Lipton. He's always so amusing when he's on The Late Show. Oh, and Conan. Love him too in the way I love a ( Read more... )

I get all excited because there's this teeny, tiny flash of Odyseuss in the background?

You are SO going to love "Troy"!

*checks Flist that I am so woefully behind on* Eeeee! You SAW it! *bounces* Hee! (I'll read what you said about it on Friday, probably. Sure, I know the story, but I still want to be sort-of surprised.) I've heard that our Sean has about as much screen time as Orlando, so you can bet I'm all excited about it. Even if they murder the myth. *deep breaths* Because he's going to get out alive, and he's going to be on screen for more than a couple minutes. *claps hands*

Yes, I am sad. Yet I don't care. ^_^

Duck love!*cackles*

The Kid was watching the Conan repeat when Eric was on but I failed to grasp the implications until it was too late.*sniffles*

Truth told, I'm seriously terrified of how dreadful "Troy" quite likely is, and that I will be merely embarassed for my beloved beautiful men.

*G* How can people not love him, eh?

Ack! Well, there wasn't a lot to it. Eric talked a bit about being Australian, about being 21 and driving around the States for 6 months, and then talked a little about Troy, which included this cute imitation of a hairdresser on set who would berate the actors constantly about the state of their hair. The clip was one I hadn't seen before -- mostly Hector talking to Menelaus and Agamemnon about how Troy would not follow a foreign leader, and then there was this quick, fuzzy flash of Odyseuss in the background as Agamemnon shifted briefly.

Well, I haven't heard anything too terrible yet, although some of the rumoured "tweaking" to the myth is bound to draw the ire of Classics scholars. I'm bemoaning the lack of gods but hoping to get through it by looking at it as an epic movie with onesome of my favourite actors. ^_^ I figure that's the best ( ... )

I am already irate enough. And I haven´t even seen it!
How do I hate thee, script-writer? Let me count the ways...

I figure it can't be THAT bad. It can't, can it? Eeeek.

um....*g*

I don't care so much what they do to the myth. Screen writing is screen writing, after all, and a movie is different from another form of storytelling. I fear bad story telling, lack of motivation (stemming from mucking wih the myth, true) and gross misuse of good actors. I mean, Bean and Bana and Bloom will survive but I might not.>_
