Silly Yuletiding Thoughts--
So I've signed up for yuletide, and posted my letter for it, which has to be some sort of record. I'm not usually that organized, and I never have the exact URL ready to include in my signup.
I'm treating this year as a bit of a palate cleanser, and I've only requested fandoms I've never received anything in. Only one is something I've asked for before (Merry Gentry). And yet, I'm actually finding myself feeling a bit weird about not asking for Eastern Promises, but I suppose I can always go back to it next year. (As it was, last year I was matched with someone who has written EP for me before -- although I didn't realize it at first -- and while she wrote me a fantastic story [both years], I was a bit mortified post-exchange, because I recycle and tweak and update my requests when they're ones I've used before rather than rewriting them from scratch, and so basically she'd not only been assigned the same person, but oh god, I gave her the same prompt. *facepalm*)
I have offered Eastern Promises, though, so it's not like I've cut out the option to do something EP-related entirely. It's very silly to be feeling this way, but there you have it. I've skipped on Sharpe before (again, offering it this year, not requesting it) without ill effects, and hell, I can just write stuff myself or apply horrendous levels of peer pressure call in many a favour bat my eyelashes at friends if it turns out to be an unbearable loss. ^_~ (And then they will say no, and I'll go off and write my own Sharpe and EP fics after all. *snerk*)
