Sad situation for the actor, and hopefully whatever it is sorts itself out for him, but at least they're not too far in...they'll be looking for a familial match for Kili now.

Dude, what a total bummer. :((( I love him as an actor & I loved the friendship that he & Aidan Turner had started to develop. I hope everything's okay with him & his family/friends/etc.

I can't help but think that this must have been something really big to make him have to leave a project like this. I hope that whatever it is sorts itself out soon. And from a totally fan perspective, Peter and Fran got the perfect person to replace Stuart so I'm hopeful for this new guy.
