Oh, Dexter--

*sigh* I love Dexter, I really do. So much so that I watched the first season avidly, sometimes catching the episodes two and three times, counted time by how close we were to the DVD release, bought and devoured all three novels, bought and thrust the first two on savageseraph, and pined for the second season to just start already

But I read this quickly at first and said "There's a fandom for Dexter's Laboratory? Good lord, who do they slash?" although Dexter does have his mortal enemy, who I can't remember, who's almost as smart as him....

I clearly spend too much time watching children's television.

Hee. See, this is where Rule 34: "If it Exists, There is Porn of It. No Exceptions." comes into play. (Or the variation, "If you think/mention it, it immediately comes into being," such as, "Hey, I wonder if there's any Care Bear slash..." As soon as the words are out, there's a small popping sound somewhere in the universe, and voila, it comes into being. I should probably warn for all sorts of brain-breaking things for that one. It's a classic, though. ^_~) Which is a very long way of saying there are close to 50 Dexter's Laboratory fics on FF.net, and at least one or two appear to be slash of some flavour. ^_~

I've not seen "Dexter," though I'd planned to rent Season 1 from Netflix. How vexing that Season 2's going down a slippery slope! I do so love "Dexter"'s premise. What a shame they're screwing it up!

Coincidentally a friend and I were just this morning discussing the tragic dumbing down and/or outright demise of Really Good TV Shows, such as Max Headroom, Keen Eddie, Firefly, Wonderfalls, Arrested Development.

Death by Lowest Common Denominator, is what my friend calls it. *makes the poopy face*

I actually watch Dexter, but we're lagging far behind. 01x07 (Circle of Friends) just aired here, that's how slow we are. (Hence I had to read the entry rather fast and with one eye closed to avoid accidentally spoiling myself, seeing as I haven't read the books yet). I could download the show, but I rather like actually sitting down in front of the tv and watching something once a week instead of gobbling it down as soon as it downloads. Clearly I have masochistic tendencies. That, or I'm trying to recreate the early days of my fandom life, when you actually had to wait for shows to air in your country, rather than download them as soon as they were out in their country of origin. *g*
