HAPPY CANADA DAY!

I hope everyone's having a good day so far. I predict lots of fireworks across the country later this evening. ^_^

So, anyway, I usually do something via LJ for Canada Day, and this year's no different. I thought, however, that instead of putting together a links list and some general blah-blah-blah (maybe later), I'd find out ( Read more... )

I missed one (at least), and after googling I'm terribly embarrassed. I knew it wasn't the Group of Seven, but beyond that...

I'm a bad Canadian. :(

*snort* You did beautifully. And honestly, I took the CBC poll earlier today and was HORRIBLY embarrassed. *facepalm* Oh god.

(We used to live near one of the Group of Seven in Unionville. *G* Dad has fond memories of the gentleman in question sitting outside and crabbing at onlookers.)

I just took the CBC quiz -- the questions are straight out of the citizenship booklet that I studied, so I did okay. It didn't ask about any Canadian women of course!

That's cool about your neighbour. They were an odd bunch, weren't they? A.Y. Jackson used to live in Manotick (near my ex's farm). My librarian-friend told me that as a little girl she remembers him standing on the porch and blowing dandelion seed everywhere because he was bored with his perfectly manicured green lawn.

Were they? Ah, ok. ^_^ Yeah, clearly I need to brush off my cobwebby memories of high school Social Studies, because I made some really stupid mistakes.

It didn't ask about any Canadian women of course!
Which is, I think, a shame. *G*

They were. *snerk* Of course, that makes them all the more interesting.

Oh, that's wonderful! ^_^ I love that idea, and what a great memory.

That was fun! Before my mate Oliver moved to Toronto he got me helping him learn stuff about his new home so some of this is (hopefully) remembered from late-night somewhat drunken Canada-cramming sessions, the rest is all just random clicking!

*G* I'm glad you had a good time! It was fun putting it together, and I'm having a blast watching people answer. ^_^ (You did beautifully, btw.)
