It seems the Ark has sprung a leak--

I woke up this morning at 5:30 am (After going to bed around 4, I think. Yay, marking. -_-) to a very strange thumping sound. I got up, walked down the hall and found myself staring at a ladder and an open attic access point (Dad was doing the thumping). Apparently something blew off the roof, and now we've got a small hole beside one of the vents, and water running down the pipe into the house. It could be worse, but it's frustrating all the same. The major problem, of course, is that it is not fixable until the rain stops. Joy.

And it looks like there's no immediate relief coming:
"Towns declare states of emergency as rain keeps falling."

*sigh* What a great way to start the day. -_-

Fannishly speaking, I've finally finished watching Jeremiah, and the last episode of Season 2 has this horrifying edge of finality to it. Not the sort of finality you get from a show that has run its course and completed its story, but one that has been cut off at the knees and must scramble to offer some sort of closure without quashing that faint hope of renewal. This makes me very unhappy, because hell, I love J. Michael Straczynski; he's always got some sort of overwhelming, overriding plot cycle that breaks out of the usual formulaic mode into a full-fledged, complex tale. *sigh* Dammit. It's always the good shows that get the shaft. And yet dreck like Joey stays on the air, wasting space.
