So, I've been thinking about getting Lasik for the past couple of years. I know at least a few of my friends either had it, or had someone in their family/friend circle who've had it. Any thoughts, experiences, suggestions, warnings you could share?

It was painful immediately after the surgery, but that subsided after i slept for a while. I had a silght problem with the flap on my right eye healing but that was resolved quickly with another office visit. My eyes were dry and required re-wetting pretty constantly for about 4 months. But they once again started wetting themselves and all is well now. I saw Halos at night but that also passed as my eyes continued to heal.
Basically... The surgery isn't 100%, there are some complications, some of which could potentially last forever. But If you go in knowing that most likely you'll have no problems if you go to someone reputable. This is not the kind of operation i'd look for low bidder on. The Doctor group i went to actually turned down someone else I knew who went there before me. Something like that was huge in my book for trusting a doctor. They didn't just take the money and do the surgery.
Lastly if my eyes do degrade back to the point i need glasses/contacts again they'll do an adjustment surgery for like $100.

My ophthalmologist (thank god for spell check), that I've trusted for over 20 years works with TLC Laser Vision Correction. What's the name of the group you used?

I met a few people that were wary, so they had it done one eye at a time. This way just in case you can see the results from one before you go ahead with the other.
