Oh my lord! I turn 21 in two weeks-ish time. If you've been around my LJ for several years you'll know that turning older has always been something that's scared me. I think it's because I feel that I have yet to do anything worthwhile with my life and turning a year older is another sign of time passing and me standing still. Anyway, yeah, ( Read more... )

Ooh, Oliver! The only show in the history of forever I enjoyed better in Norway than in London... I'm not a fan of the show OR the book, but I heartily approve of seeing a show on one's birthday!

I like your new icon! Few people makes a prettier dead!jolras than Thaxton;)

Wow, you did? When was it put up in Norway? I love the story. I have a soft spot for anything Oliver Twist and the songs are catchy! And seeing a show on ones birthday is definitely something I will continue doing. Shows are the best thing I know, and my birthday should be filled with awesome things, right?

He does make a pretty dead!jolras, he really, really does :)

There was a really good amateur production in Trondheim this summer, playing at Monkholmen:) In London, I specifically bought tickets in order to see Burn Gorman play Sikes... guess who was out for that performance:( The rest of the cast didn't really impress me either, though Dodger was good.

In Oliver!, I love "You've Got to Pick a Pocket" and "Who Will Buy?", but not much else. As for the book, I love "David Copperfield" and to a certain extent "A Tale of Two Cities " but this one never really caught my interest. I'm none too fond of Charles Dickens' writing style.

Have fun!

One: Dude! Your Community icon is awesome!

Two: I don't really like Dickens' writing style either. It was a struggle to get through Oliver Twist, and I'm probably never reading the entire thing again, but the STORY without all the side-plots is fascinating to me. And films and the musicals all focus on the main story, so I love it :)

I love "Pick a pocket" "I'd do anything" and "Consider yourself" are awesome songs. And Oliver and Company is totally awesome!
