Wow! Phil, Dustin, Pimmy and I make up four of the five Underfist heroes with our cool Underfist icons! All we need now is a General Skarr and I would probably beg the entire team to set their icons as default on the week(end?) counting down to the Underfist premiere!

Oh, so today... Dad took me to Coney Island!

Here are sum pics. I wanted to put these on LJ's scrapbook, but it's being a tard saying i need to log in when I'm clearly logged in.

View of the Parachute Jump from the parking lot. We actually waited an hour in the parking lot just to park dad's jeep, and this was the quarter-meter parking lot because nobody wants to pay $20 to park across the street. But then some people got restless waiting for parking and the $20 parking lot was also filled up. My dad didn't have $20 to spare, anyway.
There was a guy roaming the parking lot and he came to us later pointing out who's leaving next so we can take their spot. Dad paid him $2 for the service.

But alas, the parking meter was broken. Screw that! Dad told me to take a photo of the meter and the jeep (i have a better version of this with the license plate number) in case he gets a ticket when we get back. We didn't get one so all is well!

View of the original Nathan's hot dog stand from the parking lot. In nine years, it's gonna be 100 years old! ....... as long as THOR equities doesn't shut it down first!

It was crowded and Dad and I waited 40 minutes on line to order our food. There were lots of employees serving, and our line wasn't even very long, but apparantly, it took each person 10+ to get their order. When it was finally our turn and Dad ordered our food, we had to clarify what we wanted five times. It turns out our cashier didn't know much english.

The seating area. of course, there were no empty seats for us so we just went back in the car and ate in there. People kept prodding our window asking if we were gonna leave so they could park their cars in our spot.

heading up the boardwalk. That's my dad! :D

The Puerto Rican rave-ish dance scene. It's like that rave at Otakon, but with salsa, old people, and a live band in that gazeebo back there.

At the next Gazeebo to the left was a techno/rap rave with mostly African Americans, and further down was 3 Mexicans playing flutes but nobdy gathered around them or danced.

Boardwalk and parachute jump (wikipedia article)

beach

He's my dad! This is the start of the fishing pier

Looking back towards the parachute jump

A view of the amusement parks and the circus from the fishing pier

My camera can ZOOOOOOOOOM!

The sun was in my eye. ._.

the bacalao vender wasnt here today. ;_;

The end of the pier splits in 3 directions

Water is greeeeen. It's actually more of a poo brownish green with tiny white fish swimming close to the surface, but ehhh...

We turn around and walk the boardwalk some more.
Here's that Puerto Rican band again! but it was too crowded to get up front and take a decent picture

Boardwalk Vending

The Wonder Wheel to Deno's Wonderwheel Park

The cyclone to Astroland Park.

I don't know about Deno's, but Astroland is shutting down for good after this summer. I will miss thee. I never even got to overcome my fear of coasters to ride the Cyclone... It would have been one of my life accomplishments

Astroland Food

I'm going to miss all the vintage artwork this place has most of all.

New York Aquarium entrance

More boardwalk. We turned around and walked through Astroland.

The other direction is where all the ppl are!

Astroland's kiddie park!

I'm going to miss the fake sirens.

And their trashcans!

And the Dante's Inferno facade formally known as "The Hell Hole" when is one of my only childhood memories EVER. I never went in there. Never plan to.

Pirate Ship and Arcade

Hulk Hogan approves of this ride!

Top*Spin in action for the first minute or so.

now for the crane machines!

SPACE*JAM NEVER DIES AT CONEY*ISLAND!!!1!

Astroland's Arcade artwork! <3
I think these existed almost my entire life!

There's a circus going on at coney island. Honestly, Ive never seen a circus there in my life.

They gave elephant rides. I didn't ride it, but i saw the elephant stare at me.

Circus animals don't sit too well with me. Being lugged all around the world and trained to do all sorts of crap for the sheer amusement of humanity.

Never have I looked straight into an elephant's eyes before. I was speechless. Still am. and as Dad and I left, we heard other people commenting in sympathy for the elephant.

And of course, there were plenty of these around!

Dad tried to take another photo of me- this time in front of the Freak show.

Also, my dad loves Frankie's sunglasses so much that he pulled out almost a dozen pairs of sunglasses from every corner of his jeep asking me if I'll trade him! >XD I refused, of course! These glasses mean something to me!

After dad dropped me off home, I went to Old Navy with mom. I picked up one of their awesome new backpacks in blue (inner bag-shopping fetish kicked in) and a sleeveless white top for my outfit tomarrow.

Before I went to coney island with dad, Mom made me an appointment with her hair stylist to wash, cut, and iron my hair. That's why it's all flat and dead in the photos! I love it so! *___*

i ♥ ny, the life and times of cammi, lets go shopping! .... and stuff!
