Writer's Block: Remembering Summer

Aug 20, 2008 11:04

I have had some good summers, particularly during childhood, but I still love thinking about my week-long summer vacation in California. It was my first time leaving the bi-state area. It was my first time flying; I was nervous as hell b/c I kept imaging what would happen if something went wrong. I was with 2 of my best friends. We stayed at my bestest friend's cousin's house in Irvine, which is fairly close to LA. Her cousin, Tracy, had a husband and a daughter, and they were all the sweetest people you could ever meet. I guess they'd have to be to trust us with their house (most of the time they were away on business). We went to Hollywood, Venice Beach, and the local mall in Irvine. We saw some of the typical landmarks in Hollywood like the Grauman's Chinese Theater and the Walk of Fame. The most interesting thing were all the celeb impersonators and entertainers. In Venice, we watched hot guys work out at the outside gym. Yum! We watched hot guys play basketball which was nice. We chatted with some cute guys. Guys guys guys...that was our focus. We saw a movie being made. I can't remember the title. There weren't any recognizable actors or actresses. How I wish we could have went back more recently, like when Jensen was filming Ten Inch Hero, but, alas, this was like 4 years ago. We would have went to Huntington Beach, but there were TONS of people, and we were with Tracy and her daughter. So instead, we went to Disneyland, well not the amusement park part, but the part that has stores. My friends and I couldn't afford to go to the actual amusement park. LOL. All of us went to Long Beach and saw the record store where Snoop Dogg recorded one of his videos. When we weren't sight-seeing, we were hanging out around Irvine. I just remember how great if felt to be somewhere new.
